Konkan Railway News :कोकण रेल्वेच्या रोहा ते ठोकूर दरम्यान 741 किमी पूर्ण नेटवर्कवर धावणारी पहिली प्रवासीसेवा गाडी म्हणून ओळखल्या जाणाऱ्या मत्स्यगंधा एक्सप्रेसने याच वर्षी आपले रौप्यमहोत्सवी वर्ष साजरे केले आहे. ट्रेन क्रमांक १२६१९/६२० मुंबई लोकमान्य टिळक टर्मिनस-मंगळुरु सेंट्रल-मुंबई एलटीटी मत्स्यगंधा एक्सप्रेसला १ मे १९९८ रोजी हिरवा झेंडा दाखवण्यात आला होता, तेव्हा तत्कालीन पंतप्रधान ए.बी. वाजपेयी आणि रेल्वे मंत्री जॉर्ज फर्नांडिस यांनी ही गाडी कोकण रेल्वे कॉर्पोरेशनला समर्पित केली होती.
मात्र जो रेक या गाडीसाठी चालवला जात आहे तो तिच्या गौरवाला साजेशा वाटत नाही आहे. तिच्या रेकची स्थिती बिघडत चालली असून त्याकडे कोणाचे लक्ष नाही आहे. मत्स्यगंधा एक्स्प्रेसला या आधुनिक रेक मध्ये LBH रेक मध्ये अपग्रेड करण्याची नितांत गरज आहे अशा मागणीचा एक ई-मेल रेल्वे अभ्यासक श्री. अक्षय म्हापदी यांनी केंद्रीय रेल्वे मंत्री श्री आश्विनी वैष्णव आणि रेल्वेबोर्ड आणि संबंधित आस्थापनांना केला आहे. असे केल्याने या लांब पल्ल्याच्या गाडीचा प्रवास आरामदायक होईलच आणि सुरक्षित सुद्धा होईल. आशा आहे त्यांच्या या मागणीची दखल घेतली जाऊन लवकरच या गाडीला अत्याधुनिक LHB रेक दिला जाईल.

The Matsyagandha Express has been a lifeline for commuters, tourists, and traders in the region for many years. However, the train’s current rolling stock, which has served faithfully but is now showing signs of wear and tear, is in dire need of an upgrade.
The introduction of modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) rakes is long overdue, and I urge you to expedite the process of allocating brand new LHB rakes for this vital service. The benefits of LHB rakes, including enhanced passenger comfort, improved safety features, and reduced maintenance costs, are well-documented.
Upgrading the Matsyagandha Express with these modern rakes will not only enhance the overall travel experience but also contribute to the safety and efficiency of this critical service. I kindly request that Southern Railway take immediate action to prioritize the allocation of new LHB rakes for the Matsyagandha Express. This would not only demonstrate your commitment to passenger satisfaction but also boost the reputation of the Southern Railway as a forward-thinking and customer-centric organization.
I understand that the process of acquiring new rakes can be complex, but I urge you to expedite it as much as possible to ensure that the Matsyagandha Express continues to serve the people of Coastal Karnataka effectively and safely.
